Le Jas du Boeuf

Nestling on the southern slopes of the Montagne de Lure, Le Jas du Boeuf offers painting holidays and charming B&B accommodation in the heart of Haute Provence.

 

A beautifully restored 200 year old farmhouse set in seven acres of land, with stunning views towards the Luberon, this tranquil location offers a peaceful retreat. All the traditional Provencal hallmarks are in close proximity: olive groves, lavender fields, sunflowers, vineyards, ancient villages, pine and herbs fragrant in the heat. The vibrant colours of the landscape and the variety of light will appeal to painters and to those who simply want to relax in a beautiful setting.

 

Our painting holidays offer the opportunity to work alongside others in a small group and are structured for artists of all abilities, from beginners to more experienced painters. In the summer months, individual tuition is on location in the landscape. The climate is mild in spring and autumn providing excellent conditions for open air painting and drawing. Demonstrations take place both outdoors and in our studio, where you can also work all year round. We aim to inspire you in a relaxed and creative atmosphere.

 

Chambres d’Hotes facilities on a bed and breakfast basis are also offered throughout the year. Le Jas du Boeuf is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area, spending time walking, cycling, horse-riding and sightseeing. The Alps are within reach for those interested in winter skiing. Visits can be made to places of special interest, such as local vineyards, potteries and markets. Time can also be spent simply relaxing in or by the infinity swimming pool or in one of the many secluded sunny or shady corners of the grounds.

 

Untutored painting breaks are available throughout the year. For groups of three or more people, we are able to offer specialized courses in interior design, including sketching and drawing for interior designers and creating colour schemes. We can also offer accommodation and facilities to special interest groups with their own tutors, such as yoga or meditation retreats. Please contact us with your requirements.
